At Vida Sana, we see therapy as both a science and an art.

We value evidence-based approaches like CBT and are trained to provide structured, research-supported treatments when that’s what’s most helpful. At the same time, we recognize that traditional models often fall short in addressing the realities of historically marginalized communities.

That’s why our work goes beyond the manual.

While we can provide highly specific, structured treatments when needed, our true focus is on your goals, your story, and what healing looks like for you. We bring together the rigor of evidence-based care with the depth of cultural responsiveness and humanness—so that therapy isn’t just clinically sound, but personally meaningful.

Life can feel heavy or unclear at times—even when everything looks “fine” on the outside. Maybe work stress keeps piling up, your relationships feel distant, or success hasn’t brought the sense of fulfillment you expected.

Individual therapy offers a dedicated space to pause, reflect, and understand what’s really happening beneath the surface. Together we’ll look at the emotions, habits, and patterns shaping your life, so you can make intentional choices, feel more grounded, and reconnect with what truly matters. Therapy here isn’t only about fixing problems; it’s about growing, healing, and moving forward with confidence and self-trust.

Through a caring, collaborative relationship, you’ll build trust in your own resilience and begin to move forward with confidence and clarity.

Therapy for Individuals

  • Vida Sana is built on a foundation of social justice and liberation, centering the experiences of marginalized groups. We work to provide therapy that acknowledges the real-world challenges of racism, patriarchy, and oppression, helping you heal and grow in a way that feels authentic to your life.

  • Your unique background and experiences are central to the work we do together. As bilingual Latina therapists, we offer therapy that honors your cultural identity, ensuring that your story is seen, heard, and respected. For Spanish-speaking clients, we offer services in Spanish to make this process even more accessible.

  • Together, we’ll dig deep, but we’ll also focus on practical, actionable steps that you can apply in the day-to-day. We’re here to help you make meaningful changes, not just reflect on the past.

  • Scheduling an intake at Vida Sana means being matched with a clinician whose expertise and training align with your needs—so you can feel confident in your care from the start.

Areas of Focus

  • Feeling scattered or like you’re always a step behind can be exhausting—especially when you’ve worked hard to get where you are. Maybe deadlines keep slipping, your mind races at night, or simple tasks feel like climbing a mountain. We understand that ADHD isn’t about laziness or lack of willpower. Together we’ll build systems that work with your brain, not against it, and help you rediscover your strengths so you can focus, follow through, and breathe easier.

Always busy but somehow behind? Let’s find systems that work with your brain, not against it. →

  • When worry takes over, it can feel like your mind never rests. You might replay conversations, dread worst-case scenarios, or feel sudden waves of panic that seem to come out of nowhere. For those with OCD, intrusive thoughts and compulsions can make everyday life feel impossible. We use evidence-based approaches that calm the nervous system and untangle anxious loops, so you can move through your days with steadiness and self-trust.

  • Depression can show up as more than sadness. It might look like constant fatigue, irritability, or feeling numb while life keeps moving around you. You may find yourself asking, Why can’t I just snap out of this?

You don’t have to go through it alone. We create a space where you’re met with understanding and where small, sustainable steps help lift the fog and bring back energy, purpose, and connection.

If life feels flat or heavy no matter what you accomplish, we can help you find your spark again. →

  • Identity is complex and ever-evolving. Maybe you’re navigating multiple cultures, questioning aspects of gender or sexuality, or processing what family expectations mean for the life you want. These questions can feel isolating, especially if the world around you doesn’t mirror your experience. We offer a space to unpack your story, honor your heritage, and imagine what belonging and authenticity look like for you—without pressure to fit a single definition.

  • Living with trauma isn’t just about memories; it can reshape how you experience the present. Flashbacks, nightmares, or sudden surges of fear may leave you on high alert, while numbness or detachment create distance from those you love. Our trauma-informed care helps your body and mind feel safe again. We work gently and collaboratively so you can reclaim a sense of calm and trust in yourself and others.

Past trauma doesn’t have to control your present—we’ll help you feel safe in your own life. →

  • When trauma happens repeatedly — through childhood adversity, ongoing abuse, or chronic systemic oppression — it can feel like it’s woven into every part of life. You might struggle with self-worth, relationships, or an inner critic that never quiets.

Healing complex trauma takes time, compassion, and a therapist who understands its layers. We focus on building safety, strengthening your sense of self, and creating new patterns of connection and resilience.

When old wounds shape every relationship and self-belief, deep, lasting healing is possible. →

  • Strong emotions are part of being human, but if they swing sharply or feel unmanageable, daily life can feel like a rollercoaster. Maybe you react before you mean to, shut down when overwhelmed, or carry guilt after conflict. Through skills drawn from DBT, EFT, and mindfulness, we’ll help you understand your emotional signals, respond rather than react, and feel steadier inside relationships and within yourself.

If big feelings hijack your day or strain relationships, learn to ride the waves with steadiness. →

A strong therapeutic relationship—where you feel supported, understood, and validated—is essential for meaningful progress. A therapist can have the most advanced training, but if you don’t feel safe or truly connected with them, treatment won’t reach its full potential.

That’s why, at Vida Sana, building and sustaining deep therapeutic relationships is at the heart of what we do. We take time to match you with a clinician whose expertise and lived experience align with your needs, so therapy feels collaborative and grounded in trust.

Within that safe, supportive space, our team specializes in areas such as anxiety and panic, ADHD, identity-related exploration, PTSD, and complex trauma. Whether you are working through long-standing pain, seeking clarity about your identity, or managing the stress of daily life, we help you move toward healing with care that is both evidence-based and culturally responsive.

HOW IT WORKS

STEP 1: REQUEST AN APPOINTMENT

Your first step toward becoming a client is to complete our New Client Inquiry Form. Once we receive your form, Dr. Kiara will review your information to see if our services are the right fit for your needs. You’ll hear back from us promptly to schedule a free initial phone consultation with a therapist we’ve matched you with—or, if we’re not the best fit, we’ll provide you with trusted referrals.

STEP 2: Free 15 minute consultation

Once you’re connected with one of our therapists, they’ll reach out to schedule a complimentary 15-minute phone or video consultation. In this conversation, your therapist will learn more about your concerns, share information about their services and approach, and answer any questions you may have. Together, you’ll decide if working together feels like a good fit. If you both choose to move forward, your therapist will schedule your Initial Assessment (Intake) appointment.

Step 3: iNTAKE APPOINTMENT

Your first appointment called the Intake session, is a comprehensive 60 minute meeting focused on understanding your needs. During this time, your therapist will learn about your current challenges and goals for therapy, while you get a feel for their style and approach. By the end of the session, your therapist will share their clinical impressions and personalized treatment recommendations designed to address your unique concerns.
